Research Awareness Program

The Research Awareness Program (Community & Schools) is MIA’s outreach initiative focused on increasing understanding of research, academia, and knowledge-based careers through direct engagement with both community spaces and educational institutions.

This programme explicitly includes high school engagement (under our Highschool Awareness Program) as a core component, introducing students at an early stage to research, higher education pathways, and academic careers.

Rather than limiting engagement to schools alone, the programme works across community centres, mosques, youth groups, public forums, and high schools, ensuring that awareness of research and academic pathways is embedded within the wider community context.

Where interest is sustained, the programme may be followed by additional engagements, discipline-specific sessions, or visits from researchers and academics working in particular fields.
