Muslims in Academia (MIA) is a global, community-driven initiative that seeks to expand access to research, higher education, and academic careers for Muslim students and scholars, while strengthening a culture of inquiry, scholarship, and ethical knowledge production across communities.
MIA’s programmes are designed to address structural barriers, gaps in mentorship, and limited exposure to academic pathways, particularly for students and communities that have historically been underrepresented within academia.
Led by students, academics, and alumni, MIA’s programmes are developed in collaboration with schools, universities, community organizations, and researchers. While globally connected, each programme is designed to be locally responsive and community-informed.
